We've built Icebreaker, a five person rowing boat, for everyone in Portobello to row for recreation, exercise and racing.
Icebreaker is a St Ayles Skiff, designed by internationally renowned small boat designer Iain Oughtred for the Scottish Coastal Rowing Project. She's part of a fleet of skiffs around Scotland and beyond.
Rowporty is a project of the Portobello Sailing & Kayaking Club. Owned on behalf of the community by PS&KC, the boat(s) will be kept safely in the boat park on the Prom at the foot of Bath Street.
We've been awarded Heritage Lottery Funding for a second community built Skiff.
If you - or any clubs or groups - would like to get involved, either rowing Icebreaker (as individuals or a team) or would like to help with building the second boat, please get in touch.
