Rowing for all in Portobello
On Friday 10th June a group of us rowed both boats over to Port Seton for the regatta at the weekend. It was a good row, but I’ve forgotten useful facts like how long it took us! Anyone? Leave a comment!
Many thanks to the rowers at Port Seton who spotted us coming in and arranged things for us, to the fishermen who let us store the boats in their net shed, and to everyone who helped carry the boats up. The Thorntree Inn is a nice little pub!

No official word of the results, but news from up north suggests Rowporty did well.

A great day out in Dunbar at the first regatta of the season for Icebreaker, Jenny Skylark, crew, friends and family.
We did well in the races! Results to follow. Meanwhile, enjoy the photos – it was much, much windier than it appears!
With 131 boats the Gig Championships this weekend are a bit bigger than the Portobello Skiff Regatta on 30/31 July.

Yesterday’s launch of Jenny Skylark, Portobello’s second St Ayles Skiff, was a tremendous success – a huge thanks to everyone who helped in so many ways.

Sitting between probably the two strongest Coastal Rowing clubs in the country, there is now a move afoot to start a Club at Musselburgh and Fisherrow.
They are currently hunting for somewhere to build, people to help build, fundraise, and eventually of course to row.

It will be good to see a renaissance of Coastal Rowing at Fisherrow.
