On Friday 10th June a group of us rowed both boats over to Port Seton for the regatta at the weekend. It was a good row, but I’ve forgotten useful facts like how long it took us! Anyone? Leave a comment!

Many thanks to the rowers at Port Seton who spotted us coming in and arranged things for us, to the fishermen who let us store the boats in their net shed, and to everyone who helped carry the boats up. The Thorntree Inn is a nice little pub!

Yesterday’s launch of Jenny Skylark, Portobello’s second St Ayles Skiff, was a tremendous success – a huge thanks to everyone who helped in so many ways.

A proper write up and pictures will follow soon, in the meantime a nice article from STV – and a video – click the photo! (Video starts after the advert)

Coastal Rowing coming to Musselburgh

Sitting between probably the two strongest Coastal Rowing clubs in the country, there is now a move afoot to start a Club at Musselburgh and Fisherrow.

They are currently hunting for somewhere to build, people to help build, fundraise, and eventually of course to row.

If you live in the area and want to get involved, please get in touch with Quintin Pink by email, or on 0131 665 3595.

It will be good to see a renaissance of Coastal Rowing at Fisherrow.

Exciting to learn that we’ll have another club just 30 minutes row from Portobello. More fun on the water!

And nice that Alec thinks we’re one of the strongest clubs in the country!
